Discerning God's Will

January 14 @ 5PM EST - January 16 @ 12PM EST

In Psalm 143: 10, the Psalmist prays, “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your kind spirit guide me….” As we enter the New Year, we often do so with a list of resolutions to encounter transformation. This weekend, we will reflect on these desires, discern God among them, and recognize the spirit within as our guide toward His will.

This is a silent retreat.

Discernment in Motion: Exploring Fear

February 19 @ 10AM - 12:30PM EST Online

As embodied spirits, we physically store emotions in the body’s tissues that block our connection to the spirit within. St. Ignatius believed that one’s thoughts, feelings, and actions move them closer to or further from God. If not worked through, these stored emotions can influence our life, pushing us further from God. Through prayerful yoga and reflection, we will explore the emotion of fear. We will move it through the body, tapping into the spiritual gift of security to bring us closer to God.

Discernment in Motion: Exploring Guilt

March 19 @ 10AM EST - 12:30PM EST Online

Emotions are the biological interpretations of our body’s blood chemistry. Every emotion has value and contains the potential to achieve God’s purpose for us if explored honestly and allowed to move through the held blockages in the body. Together, as created, embodied spirits, let’s explore the emotion of guilt, encourage it, with the gift of yoga, to move through the body, and prayerfully encounter the spiritual gift of enthusiasm to bring us closer to God.

Discernment in Motion: Exploring Grief

April 20 @ 8:30AM - 3PM EST

It is said that we do not suffer for the sake of ourselves but for the sake of others. Jesus taught us to love as God loves. Grief is granted to us to infuse us with God’s understanding of the journey we are on so we can share in another’s. Accompanying them, we can fill their emptiness with God’s fullness. Our hearts were created to house suffering surrender. Utilizing the body, we open our hearts to the Lord, so they become flooded with the spiritual gift of compassion that spills forth unto others.

Beginners and experienced practitioners are encouraged. Sign up for one or both days; our prayers always await transformation.

Discernment in Motion: Exploring Shame

May 21 @ 10AM - 12:30PM EST Online

Every part of the physical body participates in the process of managing our emotions. Every gland, organ, nerve, bone, and muscle contributes to emotional patterns leading to habits and fixations that abandon conscious participation. There develops only a stimulus and a response. We connect physically through prayerful yoga to the container for all experience, circumstance, history, and prayer – the body – to explore shame and discover God’s spiritual gift of growth.

Discernment in Motion: Exploring Lies

August 3 @ 8:30AM - 3PM EST

Our throat grants us the ability to share our truth. However, if we hold too tightly to what we think and hear, we become blind and rigid. This rigidity can not only make us unwilling to listen, but it can whisper in our ear lies, casting shadow upon our view of self and others. When realigned, God lingers on what we hold as truth, allowing us to see His working in another and see ourselves as He does. Opening our voices in praise and lifting our heads upward to banish lies, we encounter the gift of truth.

Discernment in Motion: Exploring Illusion

October 5 @ 8:30AM - 3PM EST

Our eyes manifest our surroundings. This means they hold all we encounter along life’s path, both the grace-filled and that which seems lacking. Yet, when our eyes become opened, we gain sight by the spiritual gift of clarity. We begin to see all as opportunity. Harvested within, this clarity helps us perceive God’s purpose, for He longs to work through all we hold inside.

Mindfulness Retreat with Mark D., MA, L.P.C

December 15 @ 8:30AM - 3PM EST

The crown of our head ever reaches upward toward our Blessed Lord. Yet, we often become disconnected from this reality. Seeking the unity we long for, we become attached to worldly things, falsely being filled by their wavering presence.
